Following that long intervention, I hope to have the chance to refer to issues such as those that the hon. Gentleman mentioned. I thought that a good starting point for colleagues in my party would be the assessment made by a former very distinguished Chancellor of the Exchequer and indeed Secretary of State for Energy.
I hope that my hon. Friends will look at the article, which covered three pages in the 11 March edition of The Spectator and was headed ““Deep thought: Climate of superstition””. The byline was:"““Nigel Lawson says that the only way to deal with global warming is to reject the religious zeal of the green lobby””."
I shall not refer to the article at great length, because hon. Members can read it.
