Health Bill

I will try to respond to that. The noble Baroness was not here earlier when we talked about the limited scope of this particular guidance, which applies only to NHS establishments. She raises an important point. I find myself wondering about the Minister’s earlier caution about what is proportionate and appropriate. Perhaps different types of infection need to be dealt with in different ways. I remember walking past a children’s nursery not long ago which had a sign on the door saying, ““Closed: 29th case of chicken pox””—an infection that we may not want to record. The Minister will tell me if I am wrong, but I think that there has to be mandatory recording of incidents of E. coli, and that would apply to all educational establishments.
