Childcare Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Rix (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 26 April 2006. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Childcare Bill.
I thank all Members of the Committee who have spoken in support of this amendment, and also for being brief, which means that I will be able to see ““The Voysey Inheritance””. It is all about corruption, which we will not go into at this stage. I particularly thank the Minister for a very hopeful and helpful response. I will wait with keen anticipation for Report stage to see whether I am guided towards the light in a further amendment or whether the Government choose to table an amendment. With that in mind, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. Clause 6 agreed to. Clause 7 [Duty to secure prescribed early years provision free of charge]:
