I support every word that the noble Lord, Lord Norton of Louth, has said. The amendment is sensible. Changes to other legislation could follow quite easily. A huge amount in this Bill applies to parliamentary elections. It will be followed by secondary legislation to apply to council elections et cetera. Furthermore, a Liberal-Democrat candidate in the north-west was affected during the past couple of years.
