Electoral Administration Bill

The noble Baroness’s comment about making things easier by means of the internet has just reminded me that I have not paid my congestion charge. I shall need to do that before the day is over via the internet. I thank the noble Baroness; if she had not reminded me of that, it would have cost me a fortune. Returning to my amendments, I thank everyone who has taken part in this short debate. However, I am still stuck with the problem that all-postal voting is liable to so many hazards, not least of which is the fact that people do not go to the ballot box. They are not encouraged to do so. I am anxious to have that part of my amendment considered further. I should like to take away the measure about electronic voting rather than ruling it out completely at the moment. Experimentation may be necessary, but pilots ought to be introduced by secondary legislation to enable further discussion on them if they are to happen at all. I am grateful to everyone who has contributed to the debate. It constituted a slight step away from the main subject, but none the less, as the noble Baroness has enjoyed herself, I feel that the whole thing is fully vindicated. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendments Nos. 87 and 88 not moved.] Clause 15, as amended, agreed to. Clause 16 [Evaluation of personal identifier pilots]:
