I do not know whether it is a question of whether I feel happier about it or not. I agree entirely about flexibility, although the Minister referred to things being twinkles in her—or the Government’s—eye earlier this afternoon. I agree with my noble friend that too much of this Bill is twinkles and too much relates to pilots—but I understand why.
As well as agreeing on flexibility, I agree far more that it is our job to defend the rights of individuals to vote, to be registered to vote and to be able to vote. If the Minister is saying that she will get some of her drafting experts to come up with some perfect wording—if that ever happens—then I will be grateful. This is so fundamental that it needs to be in the Bill. On that basis—and, I think, happy note—I beg leave to withdraw the amendment.
