Commons Bill [HL]

Proceeding contribution from Baroness Byford (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 28 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills on Commons Bill [HL].
moved Amendment No. 33:"Page 14, line 42, at end insert—" ““(   )   Regulations under subsection (1) which require the keeping of electronic registers will be funded centrally.”” The noble Baroness said: My Lords, I spoke to this amendment earlier. I listened very carefully to what the Minister said. As far as I am aware, there is nothing on the face of the Bill that defines that the funding will go to local authorities. Therefore, I beg leave to test the opinion of the House. On Question, Whether the said amendment (No. 33) shall be agreed to? Their Lordships divided: Contents, 88; Not-Contents, 128
