On the question of acquiring or disposing of land, does the noble Baroness know of any commons associations that currently own land? I do not think she gave any good reason why this should be an ancillary power of a commons association. Its job is to manage the land, the vegetation and the agricultural operations—or the grazing operations, as they are now called. It is not a question of acquiring and disposing of capital assets such as land.
