I support my noble friend, but the amendment does not go far enough. He describes the problem of being stuck in a traffic jam. If it is possible to warn the person you are meeting that you are going to be late, all the stress disappears. Even after you get out of the traffic jam, there is no need to race because the person knows that you will be late. Some flexibility is desirable here—perhaps CPS guidelines might be able to address this point.
