My Lords, I am sorry to interrupt so early in the debate. The noble Lord opposite asked for definitions and the noble and learned Lord referred to ““a religion incompatible with democratic beliefs””. Only yesterday the Home Secretary was saying that Sharia law was incompatible with democratic beliefs. So, if that is the case, surely that excludes the Mohammedan religion from inclusion in the Bill because the Home Secretary said that a large chunk of its beliefs is incompatible with a democratic society.
